Sleeping Dog Rock

Description


Battle Rock in the subdued light of a spectacular Port Orford sunrise. From this viewpoint, Battle Rock looks like a sleeping dog, resting its head on the beach. Maybe there is a long lost legend... from a time when the animal giants roamed the earth. Perhaps the loyal canine heroically saved a princess from drowning, but died of exhaustion on the beach after bringing her safely back to shore. And was then somehow immortalized there in stone by The Great Spirit, where he remains to this day.
